The teapigs Project : lemongrass and elderflower iced tea *

Hello again!

I'm back with my second creation with teapigs! This time, I decided to tackle lemongrass and learned a very harsh lesson. I haven't worked with lemongrass before, and honestly had no idea what it tasted like. The smell from the teabags are very potent so I assumed the tea would be rather strong. Nope! Lemongrass tea is incredibly delicate, and my first idea turned into a complete nightmare.

Thankfully, when I was mulling it over during my 'quiet time' in the bath another idea appeared, and that is the recipe I am presenting to you now! :)

You'll be pleased to know that need far less ingredients for this than my previous recipe!!

teapigs lemongrass and elderflower iced tea

  • 1 lemongrass teapigs teabag
  • 1 pint boiling water
  • bottle green elderflower cordial
  • ice, preferably crushed
  • 1 lemon
All you need to do is pop your teapigs teabag into a jug and cover with 1 pint of boiling water. Let it do it's thing for at least 10 minutes, to get as much of the very delicate flavour of lemongrass out as possible.

Fill up your glass with crushed ice, add 1 cap of elderflower cordial and two thin slices of lemon.

Using a ladle, pour in the lemongrass tea to fill up the glass. Give it a mix and enjoy!

I told you it was simple! ;) It's very refreshing and something I think everyone would like. There are definitely less than 10 calories per glass.
