The teapigs Project : The Carrie { chocolate and peppermint iced tea } *

I feel like it's been too long since I gave you a teapigs recipe.... It probably hasn't been but I think I'm working on about four different blog series right now!! Haha!! But here we are and this one is a cracker :)

I cannot take full credit for this creation; it was an instagram picture that the lovely Carrie over at Carrie:Brighton posted that served as the inspiration for this iced tea, so it was only right that I named it after her.

  • 1 teapigs peppermint teabag
  • 1 pint boiling water
  • crushed ice
  • options hot chocolate
  • fresh mint
First thing to do is to make your peppermint tea infusion so place your teapigs teabag in your jug, cover with boiling water and leave to work it's magic for at least 20 minutes. Remove the teabag and place the tea into the fridge for a good hour. This will intensify the flavour.

When your tea is ready to use, get the glass you will be serving your iced tea in. Fill with crushed ice and empty out into your blender.

Repeat this process with your peppermint tea.

Pick your favourite hot chocolate - I love Options for this recipe, the Wispa hot chocolate would be too malty. Add 2 spoons to your blender. Don't worry, it will mix in.

Gently pulse until you have the desired consistency. You can either make a slushie or keep the ice somewhat intact. It's totally up to you. Give it a taste. If it needs more chocolate, go for it.

Empty out into your glasses, top with fresh mint and enjoy! Voila! :)

The Carrie is 40 calories of mint chocolate heaven. It is light, refreshing and something I think everyone will love! My non-chocolate loving boyfriend sampled it and really liked it, so that's a pretty good barometer right there! ;)
